With every passing day, we learn more about the powers of Megatron.  Word has filtered down that Detroit Lions All-Pro Calvin Johnson walked on the field at Comerica Park on Friday, found his way into the batting practice lineup and systematically cracked a pitch over the left-field wall.  Read more after the jump.
Career stats: 49 touchdowns;Â 1 homer;Â 1 Madden cover; legend growing.
“I told (Detroit Tigers left fielder) Delmon Young I would keep coming back until I hit one out, and I happened to hit one out today,” Johnson told The Detroit News. “I’m still coming back, though.”
Megatron was scheduled to toss out the first pitch Friday night before the Tigers faced the Pittsburgh Pirates, marking a return to baseball for the NFL pass-catcher. He played center field and pitched in his younger days.
“I played all the way up to senior in high school,” Johnson told the newspaper. “But football kind of took over at that point.”
Unfortunately for NFL defenses everywhere, yes, it did.
