It’s SO nice to hear of celebs giving back like this! Pittsburgh native Mac Miller has linked with the Make A Wish foundation to make a young cancer patient’s wish of being a rapper and working with his hometown hero come true. Details below.
On Monday, Miller helped grant one incredible wish for a teenager who is been battling a life-threatening disease.
Miller does much of his creating at ID Labs in Lawrenceville, but this week, he’s creating a wish for a very courageous young man.
Bobby Stewart, 18, of Fox Chapel, suffers from T-cell lymphoma. His stage name is Yung Ka, and he has a rap about cancer and a wish for Miller to mentor him.
“To be with Mac is a blessing,” Stewart said. “His lyrics are amazing. Hip hop is my passion. To be able to be with Mac Miller… he is a Pittsburgh legend… Wiz Khalifa shoutout.”
The two met last December when Miller, a Point Breeze native, gave $50,000 to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
“Feeling like your music really does something for the world makes it all worth it, no matter what,” Miller said. “From now on, no matter what happens for the rest of my life, no one can take that away from me.”
Miller and Stewart are now working together on a new track.
Stewart’s parents said they’re full of gratitude for Miller and the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
“(They’ve) given so much hope, brought so much into his life,” Traci Stewart said.
