The champion sprint star has dumped gorgeous fashion designer Lubica Slovak so she won’t “distract†him from training.
The split follows a race row in Bolt’s homeland of Jamaica, where female fans caused an outcry by criticising him for choosing a white partner. Earlier this week sources close to both Bolt, 25, and Slovakian-born Lubica insisted they were very much in love.
But last night a Jamaican news website reported the pair had agreed to end their relationship.
A source said: “It was a mutual decision between two adults.â€
Bolt, the reigning Olympic champion and world record holder over 100m and 200m, is famed for his lightning speed along the track and post-victory pose.
He hopes to smash his own records and retain his titles at the London Games this summer.
Lubica, 28, emigrated to Canada when she was 14 and studied fashion design in Toronto.
She moved to Jamaica after falling in love with it on holiday and was introduced to Bolt last year through a mutual friend, reggae singer Tami Chynn.
They were said to be “very comfortable together†and to favour quiet dinners over glitzy functions.
But they received a barrage of abuse after a picture of them kissing was published last month.
A source close to Bolt said: “He will have plenty of time for relationships. At the moment he’s concentrating on his running career and doesn’t want anything to distract from that.â€
Bolt’s agent Ricky Simms said: “We don’t comment on athletes’ private lives.â€
