Looks like Daniel Hooper’s prototype design for text editing on the iPad keyboard has some how been perfected. Some are saying the prototype might be better than the one that comes stock on the ipad. As for now Daniel Hooper’s prototype for ipad is only available on jailbroken iPads.
Developer Kyle Howells swipe selection adds a litte bit more  to the prototype such as being able to move text by swipe at different speeds depending on gesture, by either using one finger or two fingers.
