With a year and half in with their Nokia’s Lumia mobile phone, Nokia has not seen any traction in the smartphone market which is deminated by Apples iPhone and Googles Android based phones. It looks like Nokia may have to look for help from their partners over at Microsoft.
With shares dipping 90% in 5 years and a mounting debt, 2 0f 3 major agencies see the Lumia as failure and Nokia as a falling brand. At this point Microsoft has to step in to the help failing company, which at one was the leader in the industry in manufacturing smartphones around the world.  According to one banker “I don’t see Microsoft owning Nokia, but it would definitely provide financing to the tune of a couple of billion dollars,” said one veteran technology banker.
With 60 Billion dollars of cash on its books, it would be a good idea for Microsoft to jump aboard and help the sinking ship at Nokia, but according to sources Microsoft does not want to compete with the company that builds their hardware.  To pay some of it debits Nokia had planned on putting some of its patients up for sale which Microsoft urged Nokia not to do. For now Nokia’s CEO has all faith with Microsoft and see’s somet good things in the future with brand.  According to  Nokia’s CEO   “Elop was not hired as a boss for a burning platform,” said John Strand, founder and CEO of Danish consultancy Strand Consult. “He put the platform on fire.
