On April 15, Vazquez asked an acquaintance if he had any leads for a hitman, but the informant turned around and reported him, police say.
The informant waited three days to tell the police, who then asked him to schedule a meeting to ensnare Vazquez.
An undercover officer met Vazquez on April 10 at the Triple Play restaurant, where Vazquez detailed his plan.
He said he ‘wanted his wife killed because she was cheating on him, took his money, took his vehicles, wouldn’t sign papers for him, and always threatened to call INS to have him deported,’ according to police reports.
The undercover officer requested $2,000 for the job to be paid in two installments of $1,000.
Vazquez asked that the hitman break into his home around midnight at the end of the weekend and ‘beat him up, steal his stuff and kill his wife.’
