In a terrible accident, a twenty year old college student fell over a railing and died. She was standing in front of her friend when the pair fell and he landed a top her. His condition is unknown. Get the full story after the jump.
Daily Mail – A 20-year-old student fell to her death from a balcony early on Friday morning.Â
Linden Whitt of Mishawaka, Indiana and Joseph Lao, also 20, of Naperville, fell from an apartment balcony at around 3am on Friday.Â
The two were standing, Linden in front of Joseph, leaning against the balcony railing, police said.Â
Joseph lost his balance and they both fell over the railing, eight feet from the ground. Linden landed first with Joseph dropping on top of her, witnesses told police. The pair had been at a party where Joesph said they had been drinking vodka, according to the Bloomington Herald Times. The results of a toxicology test are not yet known.
Linden was unresponsive and did not have a pulse when paramedics arrived at the scene. She was given CPR as crews battled to save her.

Both she and Joseph were taken to IU Health Bloomington Hospita
where Linden was given emergency treatment in the Critical Care Unit having suffered a spinal cord injury in her neck.
The Sophomore student’s parents rushed to her bedside where she died on Saturday at just before 5pm.
Joseph survived but details of his condition were not released.Â
As news of Linden’s death reached fellow students, one took to tumblr to say farewell to her friend.
‘The thing I remember most about you is the beautiful smile you were always wearing,’ she wrote.
‘That smile will be missed by so many people. I love you, girl. Thank you for being you.’
Linden’s death follows arrests of 271 students during Indiana University’s Little 500 weekend, the school’s biggest intramural sports event and party, annually attended by thousands.
Hundreds of police officers were at the even in an attempt to crack down on underage drinking. There were no arrests made at the party Linden had been at before her death.
