DMÂ – A man who killed his family’s pet bunnies after an argument with his wife is facing two years in prison.Â
Reginald Owen Sear, Jr., 35, went to the bathroom and twisted three bunnies in his hands until they died after arguing with his wife over who would wake up to feed them.
The father-of-two pleaded guilty to three counts of animal cruelty for the killings last May on Friday.
Sear of Winter Haven, Florida was also charged with domestic battery and child abuse, reports the The Ledger.
The count of child abuse was brought after one of his children saw him return from the bathroom with blood on his face.
He has accepted a plea deal for the crime and faces two years in prison.
Sear is expected be sentenced to a further five years on probation. He is banned from owning or caring for animals, and will have to take anger management classes after his release.
He is expected t be sentenced on April 11.
