Police are currently investigating a fight that took place on a Brooklyn subway platform that has left one man dead and another on the run. Two men were involved in a fight as they exited a train when they fell onto subway tracks. One man was hit by an incoming train and was later pronounced dead at a nearby hospital. Read more below.
Police are investigating after a man got into a fight on a Brooklyn subway platform, fell to the tracks, and was killed by an oncoming train.
Investigators say Josh Basin, 20, and another man fell on the tracks at the Bedford Avenue stop in Williamsburg on Friday night.
Basin, of Howard Beach, was riding the L train at about 10 p.m. Friday when he got into an argument with another man, according to police. The man got into a fight with Basin as the pair exited the train, and the two fell into the tracks where Basin was struck by an oncoming train.
He was taken to Bellevue Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
The second man got away and is being sought by police.
