Peyton Manning will work out for the Tennessee Titans on Saturday morning, ahead of a reported Monday or Tuesday decision on his future.

Manning — a week shy of his 36th birthday — will show the Titans his talents in a 10:45 a.m. workout at an unknown location, Jonathan Hutton from the Titans’ flagship radio station WGFX tweeted.

The timeline for a final decision on the much-awaited move appeared to become clearer Friday night, with NFL Network reporter Albert Breer tweeting, “Per league sources, Peyton Manning has informed clubs that he plans on making a final decision on his future on Monday or Tuesday.”

But he noted the drawn-out process of Manning’s search for a new team after 14 seasons in Indianapolis, adding “People involved aren’t convinced he’ll stick to that, partially because the process has been lengthy already. We’ll see what happens.”

The Titans workout comes a day after the Denver Broncos had another look at Manning at the Duke University campus in Durham, N.C.

Broncos executive vice president of football operations John Elway tweeted, “Watching him throw today was the next step in this important process for our team and Peyton. It was a productive visit and went well.”

Denver is viewed in some quarters as the frontrunner for Manning, in part because it was the first team he visited after becoming a free agent, but a move to the Titans would be a homecoming of sorts for Manning, who attended college at the University of Tennessee after being raised in Louisiana.

The shortlist of teams vying for the veteran Colts quarterback’s signature has already been reduced after it emerged Arizona and Miami had resigned themselves to missing out and set about making other arrangements.

Multiple sources claimed Manning personally called the Dolphins on Thursday to confirm he would not be relocating to Florida, according to the NFL Network, while the Cardinals closed the door on their chances Friday, paying quarterback Kevin Kolb a $7 million roster bonus to keep him on the team next season.

But even as those doors closed, another alternative for the Super Bowl XLI MVP appeared Friday in the form of theSan Francisco 49ers.

According to ESPN, 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh and offensive coordinator Greg Roman visited the 11-time Pro Bowler on Tuesday on the Duke campus where they watched him throw passes.

A source described the session as “very impressive,” according to ESPN. Manning also reportedly underwent a physical during the Niners’ visit.
