An Ohio high school is on lockdown after four students were shot early this morning. I wish there was something that could be done to prevent this from EVER happening! So sad. More details below.
Civil deputy Erin Knife with the Geauga County Sheriff’s Office said the shooting was reported around 7:30 a.m. Monday at Chardon High School.
Three of the students shot are in critical condition, while one victim is in stable condition, according to authorities. The victims are believed to be three male students and one female student.
The suspected lone shooter has been taken into police custody, Chardon Local Schools superintendent Joseph Bergant II told Fox affiliate WJW-TV.
The situation is under control and an FBI SWAT team is on the scene, police said.
A parent waiting outside the school told the station that her daughter sent her a text message, saying the shooting took place inside the cafeteria.
Another student reported hearing a total of five shots fired, the station reported.
Chardon is about 30 miles east of Cleveland.
