In the past two days, Nike held a 2012 Summer Olympics Innovation Summit in NYC showcasing their latest developments for athletes competing in the world’s biggest athletic competition. And they brought out the heavy arsenal for main stage. Click below to find out more and see pictures of what went down.
Olympic Gold Medalist Carl Lewis opened the “games†for the worlds most influential newspaper, magazine and digital journalists at the newly renovated Basketball City on Pier 36 in New York City. The stage was set for Nike CEO Mark Parker who introduced the crowd to the latest innovations in performance apparel and footwear including Nike Pro TurboSpeed, Nike Fly Knit and Nike Lunarlon footwear on the first day. After the initial introduction, key executives from Nike presented each of the innovations in detail with appearances from Olympic caliber athletes from their respective product categories. After about 45 minutes of presentations on stage, full in depth demos were presented in individual pods where products were available for hands-on review. Some products of interest include the Nike AF1 1992 Dream Team Anniversary Edition, Nike Basketball Olympics Retro Pack, Nike Lunar Safari, Nike Air Current, and Nike Fly Knit. After a long break, Nike Sportswear at 21 Mercer hosted a celebration of Nike HTM with special guests Hiroshi Fujiwara and Mark Parker (the H and the M in HTM, missing was Tinker Hatfield).
