Microsoft is reportedly considering creating a new music service with the help of some major record companies. Zune is still the preferred music service for people with Windows Phones. The new service would bring tunes to Windows Phones as well asXbox consoles and would include streaming music as well as downloadable tracks.
Microsoft already has Zune Pass for the Xbox, and has deals in place with record labels for that service. It’s unclear entirely how a new music service would differ from what the company currently offers.
According to CNET, Microsoft is also talking with both HTC and Nokia on the possibility of teaming up on a special Windows-based phone to include the service.
