It’s not easy being LeBron James, says LeBron James.

“I’m an easy target,” James lamented on Wednesday after the Miami Heat’s loss to the Orlando Magic. “If someone wants to get a point across, just throw LeBron’s name in there. You could be watching cartoons with your kids and you don’t like it, you say, ‘Blame it on LeBron.'”

Not surprisingly, basketball fans on Twitter quickly made LeBron’s paranoid scenario a reality and began tweeting about all of the #ThingsBlamedOnLeBron. Here are some of the funniest of the many things that James is being held accountable for.

In this particular instance, James was fielding questions about statements by Oklahoma City Thunder center Kendrick Perkins and hoops legend Larry Bird. Perkins had previously ripped James for tweeting about his being posterized by Blake Griffin, claiming that the league’s most focused players, like Kobe Bryant, wouldn’t be taking the time totweet about someone getting dunked on.

“It doesn’t bother me. For me, social media and Twitter is all about connecting with the fans,” James said in response to Perk’s criticism of his tweet. “I would never apologize about anything like that when I’m connecting to my fans.”

After responding to Perkins’ criticism, James was asked about Bird’s statement that he’d prefer to play with Kobe instead of the two-time MVP. After answering Perk’s criticism with common sense and conceding that Kobe had been more successful than him, James’ statements took a turn toward self pity. James went on to lump Perkins and Bird in with the general public — that he supposedly enjoys connecting with — by saying that people are too quick to criticize him.

“You go to the grocery store and they don’t have the milk that you like, you just say, ‘It’s LeBron’s fault.'”
