Madonna won’t explicitly say who she’s rooting for, but she did answer any questions the media had for her. She had some advice for Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski when asked about his injury and she also said she was inspired by Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz and busted out her best salsa moves for the crowd.
Madonna on Gronkowski:
Madonna’s pulled hamstring is not going to stop her from performing at Super Bowl XLVI and she said Thursday that Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski’s ankle sprain shouldn’t stop him either.
“A lot of people say I’m a masochist,” she said, when asked how she would cope with the same injury, according to USA Today. “I would just tape my ankle, take an anti-inflammatory and get my butt out there.”
Gronkowski took a limited role in New England’s practice Thursday, according to the team’s participation report.
Gronkowski, who is recovering from a high left ankle sprain, had not previously participated in practice during the buildup to Sunday’s Super Bowl against the New York Giants.
Earlier Thursday, Gronkowski, who is one of New England’s top weapons in offense, told reporters he likely would not be 100 percent by Sunday, but was hopeful it would not keep him off the field.
Madonna said she would perform three old hits and one new song during her halftime performance in Indianapolis.
The 53-year-old pop icon said she has felt like an athlete preparing for her appearance at the Super Bowl in Indianapolis on Sunday, after recently injuring her leg.
“I feel like I’m one of the football players right now with all of the physical therapy I have to do, but I’m good,” she said, according to NFL.com.

Madonna on Victor Cruz:Â
Madonna won’t explicitly say who she’s rooting for, but her spot-on salsa dance in honor of the New York Giants Victor Cruz may have revealed where her allegiance lies.
At a news conference Thursday to promote her halftime Super Bowl performance, she was asked what she thought of the wide receiver’s touchdown celebration dance and if she had any criticisms of his moves.
“I have no criticism … actually, he’s inspired me. I’ve been practicing,” said Madonna, who lives in New York, before busting a move in front of the few hundred media members in attendance.
“Do you think he’d approve?” she asked after her brief performance. Madonna also leaned toward the Giants when pressed on which quarterback she’d rather have dinner with, the New England Patriots’ Tom Brady or the Giants’ Eli Manning. While she protested the question was unfair, she allowed: “I’d have to say Eli because he lives in New York and I don’t want him to waste gas. ”
