…In her forthcoming book ‘I Got This: How I Changed My Ways and Lost What Weighed Me Down,’ Jennifer Hudson says that the starring role in ‘Precious’ was first offered to her, but she wasn’t about to gain weight for another role.
“I had done that with Effie… and as much as I was moved by this film. I wanted to try a role that had nothing whatsoever to do with my weight.â€
It’s understandable that J Hud passed up the role as she could have very well been typecast for the rest of her career.
Not too long after she turned down the role, Jennifer appeared in the ‘Sex and the City’ movie and dropped over 80 pounds. Meanwhile, Gabby picked up more acting roles with her most recent release being Tower Heist with Ben Stiller, Eddie Murphy, and Casey Affleck. She’s currently filming ‘Seven Psychopaths’ with Colin Farrell, Woody Harrelson and Christopher Walken.
