One shot behind with two holes to play, Woods closed with clutch birdie putts Sunday to win the Chevron World Challenge by one shot over former Masters champion Zach Johnson.

Woods holed a 6-foot birdie putt on the 18th hole for a 3-under 69, sweeping his arm and slamming down his fist in a celebration that was a long time coming.

It was the 83rd title worldwide for Woods, but his first since the Australian Masters on Nov. 15, 2009, a span of 749 days and 26 official tournaments. Woods crashed his car outside his home on Thanksgiving night two years ago, followed by shocking revelations of extramarital affairs.
