More colorful than ever, Chris Andersen is using his ink to get out the word on the evils of the Chinese fur business.
In coordination with People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, the Nuggets center has joined the “Ink Not Mink” campaign. He joins tattooed professional athletes from across the country who have joined the movement: “Be Comfortable in Your Own Skin, and Let Animals Keep Theirs.”  Check the pic after the jump…
Today, Andersen is going to visit the New Genesis homeless shelter in Denver. He will join PETA members in giving away donated fur coats to the homeless — “the only people who have any excuse for wearing fur,” according to a PETA news release.
Andersen will also unveil his new “Ink Not Mink” ad.
“These animals aren’t dying in a good way. I think everyone should be aware of that. It’s a nightmare,” he says in a PETA video. “These animals don’t deserve to be beaten or slaughtered. Check it out, look at the video PETA has put together with the investigations of what is going on in the Chinese world of fur farms. Be aware of what is going on behind the scenes. . . . And not to purchase the fur.”
Andersen will be back to work Dec. 9, when the Nuggets open training camp.
