Rihanna’s racy “We Found Love” video has been banned from French daytime TV. The Supreme Audiovisual Council of France has announced that they video will only be played after 10p.m. because it’s “pronounced suggestive” scenes and “self-destructive behavior,” are too explicit for daytime TV. We Found Love,” Rihanna’s souped-up dysfunctional love-fest, which we can’t seem to get enough of stateside, has been ruled unsuitable for France’s daytime television.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, The Supreme Audiovisual Council of France said the video, with its “pronounced suggestive” scenes and “self-destructive behavior,” is too explicit for the daytime and will only be played after 10 pm.
While the single has been glued to the No. 1 spot on Billboard’s Hot 100, we can’t deny that the Melina Matsoukas-directed video isn’t G-rated, (i.e. the whirlwind of drugs and sex, butt tattoos, pack-at-a-time-cigarette-smoking and vomiting up streamers).
Oh, well. It’s not like the R&B singer hasn’t been here before.
Rihanna’s “S&M” music video, also directed by Matsoukas, was banned in 11 countries for being too sexually explicit.
