Sacramento Kings guard Tyreke Evans has signed a deal with Virtus Roma that, if the NBA lockout is not resolved, will keep him with the Italian club for the rest of the 2011-12 season, according to an announcement on the team’s website.
Evans, 22, was the NBA’s 2009-10 Rookie of the Year, averaging 20.1 points, 5.3 rebounds and 5.8 assists, but he struggled with plantar fasciitis last season and played in only 57Â games.
Virtus Roma, meanwhile, is 3-4 in the top Italian basketball league.
