Indian tycoon Mukesh Ambani spent a billion dollars building a home that he doesn’t want to live in. Ambani’s 27-story tower in Mumbai, the world’s most expensive home, was completed a year ago, but the billionaire and his family haven’t moved in, the Daily Mail reports. The home is believed to have crossed the Hindu version of feng shui because its eastern side doesn’t have enough windows to let in sufficient morning light, making Ambani believe that living there will bring him bad luck.
The home, which boasts three helipads, a ballroom, a movie theater, and a series of floating gardens, has been used to host the occasional party, but Ambani and his family always return to their other home—a paltry 14-story tower—afterward. The unlucky tower has dominated the Mumbai skyline since it went up, although another tycoon is building a 36-story home just half a mile away—presumably with a few more windows on its eastern side.
