Minnesota Vikings quarterback Donovan McNabb is doing his best to accept his latest benching, but that’s not easy. Check what he has to say…
“Am I p—ed off about it? Of course,” McNabb told the St. Paul Pioneer Press. “But p—ed off to myself, knowing I could have played a lot better to help.
“Obviously we have a lot of deficiencies on this team. We have to be able to fill holes we’ve had problems with. Personally, I just look at what I could have done better. But most importantly, (my role is) helping the young kid (Christian Ponder) have his confidence going on the field.’’
Ponder played well enough against the Green Bay Packers in Week 7 to indicate that McNabb is probably not getting the starting job back, barring an injury.
Playing for this third team in three years, McNabb did not sound ready to retire after this season.
“I feel like I have gas in the tank to play,” McNabb said. “I still feel I can play this game.”
However, McNabb has not played the game lately as well as he used to. And that leaves his future uncertain.
