Death happens, we just don’t like it when it does, we wish an eternal Rest for the father of C Programming and Unix, which is what most of the Web is built on, Hit the Jump for info on how he passed.

A Google Engineer, Bob Pike, confirmed from his G+ account that Mr. Ritchie had indeed passed away from a long time ‘unknown’ illness.
Ritchie started at Bell Labs back 1967, had a PHD from Harvard, and in ’69 him and other colleagues created Unix, which became the ground work for Programming C, which Most Web Programming Language is built on today! He went on to get several Honors and awards throughout he 80’s & 90’s, and has a Book called “The C Programming Language”.
Pike left some Very Nice Words for his Friend & Co-Worker:
“He was a quiet and mostly private man,“
“but he was also my friend, colleague, and collaborator, and the world has lost a truly great mind.“
