An additional charge of assault has been lodged against a 34-year-old homeless man accused of sexually assaulting an elderly woman behind an Orland Park home-improvement center on the 7300 block of 159th Street on Aug. 30.
Dennis D. Dodson, charged with criminal sexual assault, allegedly threatened a store employee that same day as the employee was arriving for work.
Sgt. Scott Malmborg said Dodson asked for a handout. When the employee declined, Dodson allegedly responded, “You’re lucky they took my knife away from me because I’d stick it in your [expletive] head.â€
Judge Peter Felice set bail at $50,000 on the misdemeanor charge, with a return court date of Oct. 14. The bail amount reflects the seriousness of the earlier charge, Malmborg said.
Orland Park Police originally took Dodson into custody on Sept. 23. He was booked into the Cook County Jail on Sept. 24.
