Favre’s broadcasting debut featured ‘a lot of grunts and groans’
Brett Favre might not want to quit his day job — whatever that is these days.
On Saturday, the three-time NFL MVP and former Southern Miss record-setting quarterback, made his broadcasting debut as the color analyst for the Southern Miss-Rice game and, according to reports, it was a little choppy.

Brett Favre Will Be NFL’s Next Great Primetime Announcer
Even though his playing days finally seem to have reached their definite end, Brett Favre has managed to put himself in one of his favorite positions: The position of having employers begging for his services.
Favre made his debut as a TV football analyst this past Saturday. And while he certainly showed he was green at moments, he left little doubt that he could excel in this capacity just like he did on the football field.
His charm and skill in the booth will erase any fear by network executives that the recent hits to his public image will taint his value as an analyst.
Favre, sure to be coveted as an NFL analyst free agent, is a natural talker. He speaks intelligently, but at the same time he puts it in a language that everyone can understand. He has the natural demeanor that leaves you feeling like you are listening to a friend talk, and not a future Hall of Fame quarterback.
