In a move similar to other sports teams, the New Orleans Saints have sold the naming rights to their home venue, which will now be called the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.

The Saints and state of Louisiana will announce a 10-year deal Tuesday that will generate enough revenue to break the state’s financial ties to the team, ProFootballTalk.com reported late Monday.

The Saints have sold out 73,000 seats for the season, and they have a waiting list of more than 50,000. The stadium, which has been recently renovated, is selling the rights six years after Hurricane Katrina decimated the city and turned the Superdome into a shelter.
