Cops busted Tulsie Singh, 35, at his E. 239th St. home in the Bronx Tuesday on charges of sexual conduct against a child and endangering the welfare of a child, according to court documents.
The abuse took place from Sept. 1, 2004, until March 30, 2007 – beginning when the child was 8 years old and ending when he was 11, records show. The victim is now 15 years old, according to court documents.
The child was a student at the school,, and the alleged abuse took place at P.S. 306X-inside a classroom after school had let out for the day.
Singh is accused of rubbing against the child’s buttocks, as well as touching and kissing him on numerous instances, according to court records.
“You don’t know what you’re saying,” said a relative of Singh’s who answered the phone at his residence Tuesday.
“It’s totally untrue. Go and get your statement correct. You’re crazy.”
Singh started teaching at P.S. 306X, an elementary school on W. Tremont Ave., in 2000, according to the Department of Education.
He was reassigned several times to other unspecified posts because of “incidents” during his stormy tenure, a DOE spokeswoman said.
Singh was suspended without pay in January and fired for conduct unbecoming in April. His arrest follows an arbitrator’s investigation and subsequent ruling on his dismissal.
The former teacher was released tonight on $2,000 bond after his arraignment in Bronx Criminal Court, records show.
