So Now that the Team has had the BB Bold 9900 in Service(with Tmobile) for a minute now, we have a better understanding of it’s workings, See the Pro’s and the Con’s!
WZA on Google+
PRO’s:
-Voice quality from device end seems pretty strong
-The Device is Much Thinner than previous models, giving a great feel, and it feels sturdy as well
-Screen resolution is Great, Super Clear, and Clean!!
-Web experience is Much Better than previous Models, no web lag like before
–Video is HD 720p, better than previous models, and keeping up with current standards.
–Pics are at a higher resolution than previous Models, once again keeping up current standards.
-of course touchsreen helps to also keep up with current standards.
-No Signal lost(on Tmobile)
CON’s
-Pricing; on Tmo it’s $350 with a $50 mail in rebate(who does mail in anymore??) which makes it $300, which is TOO expensive in this economy, and other powerful devices usually $199 -_-
-Voice Quality from other end(person you’re on the phone with) sucks, Somebody with th device has called me and they go in & out constantly
-Battery life SUCKS, which is a surprise because Blackberry has always had good batt life compared to other devices, but due to the higher resolution, the batt is weak!
-BB STILL Freezes, what a surprise -_-
-once loaded with contacts and emails the Bold 9900 shows a definite lag -_-
probably related to the freezing, but since the blackberry is really for business, RIM should have expected this and compensated!
-9900 goes from 4G to edge, which is 2G, what happened to 3G???
This is a big problem, why would they cut the most current generation of carrier speed??? I honestly don’t know if that’s a device issue or a carrier issue.
Overall, Yes a great redesign, thin, responsive, and pretty, keeps up with current standards for the most part, But Functionality is still Not really up to specs, if you count in the iPhone, OR Android devices. And theProblem with keeping up to some specs is not a true feat, It will not blow anyone away. When iPhone and Android came onto the market, it did something No other device  did before, hence blowing people away.
Also you can’t ‘Jailbreak’, or ‘Root’ Blackberry’s to create your own customized device. If you take the $ into account(and how could you not in this economy) it’s just not worth the price it is offered for -_-
I really hope RIM can get it’s stuff together(before the Sell off starts), keeping another OS/Device on the market not only gives customers a choice, it also helps with the overall price structure, but a failing device line might as well be no line at all
