@WiL
Daffy Khadafy really did have a crush on Condi.
When rebels overrun your bunker, they usually find all sorts of embarrassing private items.
At Bab al Aziziya, Col. Moammar Khadafy’s fortified compound in Tripoli, rebels were chortling Thursday over a scrapbook they found full of photos of former President George W. Bush’s Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice.
Page after page featured her toothy grin and soignee hair styles.
The diplomatic world had long snickered at Khadafy’s passion for Rice.
In 2007, he swooned like a teenager over her in an interview with Al Jazeera TV.
“Leezza, Leezza, Leezza…I love her very much,” he said.
“I support my darling black African woman,” he said. “I admire and am very proud of the way she leans back and gives orders to the Arab leaders.”She beckons to Arab leaders and they come to her.”
The tyrant and the Secretary of State met the following year, just before the 2008 election, when Rice visited Tripoli to strengthen the warming ties between Khadafy and Washington.
The lovesick autocrat posed with Rice in the same compound rebels have been ransacking since Wednesday.
He gave her a locket engraved with his picture and the words “From Moammar Khadafy, with respect and admiration.”
She gave him an plate emblazoned with the seal of the United States.
It was hardly romantic, but he liked it.
“Oh, this is so beautiful,” Khadafy said.
Then they shared an evening meal in his Bedouin tent.
Rice’s assistant at Stanford University said the former Secretary of State would not comment on the despot’s crush without a detailed faxed request.
