Police say two 8 year old boys, who were life long best friends, had been driving around private property in the cart. Curtis Mace was driving an EZ-Go brand golf cart around the property with Cole Dolbear, who was riding on the rear of the cart.
Dolbear lost his grip and fell. Mace didn’t know that his friend had fallen off the cart and backed over him.
The boys’ parents and members of the Palermo Volunteer Fire Department attempted life saving measures at the scene. Dolbear was transported by Menter’s Ambulance to Oswego Hospital with a serious head injury, where he died.
