Today would have been Hollywood legend, Lucille Ball’s, 100th birthday. Ball stared in several TV shows and is most known for her hilarious show “I Love Lucy” starring then husband Desi Arnaz. Known for her red hair and crazy antics, Lucy and her crew took the world by storm with her sitcom, which premiered in 1951 and ran until 1957. After the official ending of “I Love Lucy,” Lucy and the crew started in spin-offs called “The Lucy-Desi Comedy Hour,” “The Lucy Show,” and “Here’s Lucy” which kept them on air until 1974. “I Love Lucy” made Lucille Ball a household name, multi-award winner, and landed her in second place on 2007’s 50 Greatest TV Icons of all time. The show, which was in syndication for a long period of time and still returns to TV line-ups every so often, became Hollywood history. Lucille Ball passed away in 1989 at age 77 after complications from an aorta transplant after a dissecting aortic aneurysm.
