We posted some pics a couple months back from one of the episodes & now Shawn is speaking on the new show.
While the league has locked out the players during collective bargaining negotiations, Shawn Marion is shooting a reality show pilot—Ladies in My Life— that brings together his mother and three sisters, including 6-foot twin Shawnette.

“They want to do it, so we’re going to do it,” says Marion, who passed on the idea when his publicist, Danika Berry, first approached him about it in 2009. “We’re going to test it out and see how much fun we can have with it.”

Berry had contacted another reality show creator about Marion, who easily warms up to a camera or microphone.

“I told him it would be tasteful and tailored the right way,” Berry says.

“A lot of times you get asked to do things you just don’t want to do. When you’re champion, you tend to do it,” says Marion, who declined a chance to compete on ABC’sDancing with the Stars.

Marion has had a free basketball camp in his hometown of North Chicago, received a key to the city there and threw out the first pitch at a Chicago Cubs game two weeks ago.

“It was amazing. They reached out to me. They showed me a lot of love,” Marion says of getting the key. “It touched me. I’ve been trying to help the kids, but my goal wasn’t to be rewarded for it.”

Marion also continues his work with single mothers through his foundation. He was raised without a father, and the special bond he has with the women in his family is what led to the pilot.

“Your mother can do a great job of raising you, but there are things she can’t do that a man can do,” says Marion, who is single. “I know how hard it is to raise any kids in this world, and to do it by yourself, it’s a big challenge.”
