Police say that motorists called authorities after noticing a pickup truck driving erratically on the interstate. Troopers were able to stop the vehicle and found the 8-year-old in the driver’s seat. Troopers noticed Holden in the passenger seat and his 4-year-old daughter in the back seat. As police interviewed Holden, they determined that Holden was en route from Hattiesburg to Dallas, TX. They also determined that Holden was intoxicated and sleeping while his son was driving, according to a State Police spokesperson.

Holden was arrested and booked in the Livingston Parish Jail. He is charged with two counts of child desertion, parent allowing a minor to drive, open container, two counts of no child restraint and no seatbelt. Both children were turned over to child protection services, while awaiting the arrival of a family member.
