The day of Monday, July 25, 2011, will officially be known as the day that running back Edgerrin James announced his retirement from the NFL.

After 11 seasons in the league, the soon to be 33-year old James announced his retirement at his third annual Edgerrin James Foundation football camp at Immokalee Sports Complex across from his old high school.

“I’ve been retired,” said James, a running back who began his career in 1999 as the No. 4 overall pick in the NFL Draft by the Indianapolis Colts. “I’m not playing anymore.”
