A day before hitting his 3000th career hit, it was announced that Derek Jeter will not go to the 2011 All-Star Game. According to Foxsports.com, Jeter bowed out because of”emotional and physical exhaustion” from his pursuit of 3,000 hits.

Major League Baseball is apparently not happy about Jeter’s decision.  New York Daily News reporter Mark Feinsand wrote on Tuesday that one MLB official said that “Jeter has done everything right during his whole career, he was wrong on this one.”
