A Queens teenager is clinging to life after losing her grip on a fire escape and tumbling four floors to the ground, police and friends said.
Mathea Jon, 19, of Hollis, was coming down from a rooftop of a friend’s building on 210th St. around 2 a.m. when she fell, cops said.
The friend, Daniel Santiago, 20, said he watched helplessly as Jon dropped.
“She reaches for the ladder and I hear a scream,” he said. “I look over and I see her falling.”
“It was me and her and we was hanging out and listening to music, enjoying the view,” he said choking up.
Santiago and another friend raced downstairs and called 911 as Jon laid face down, moaning in a pool of blood.
Sources said Jon’s fall was broken by a third floor metal terrace.
Jon was taken to Jamaica Hospital, where she is in stable condition, authorities said.
Investigators believe the fall was an accident and no charges are expected.
Another friend of Jon’s showed up after getting wind of the freak fall and said her injured pal enrolled at CUNY this fall and planned to start a career in medicine.
In shock, Santiago, who only met Jon a couple days ago, is hoping she survives.
“God willing she pulls through,” he said.
