This week South Korea announced  they will spend over $2  billion on replacing textbooks with digital textbooks, hoping to have all books converted digitally by 2015.
Once all books have been converted digitally, students will have access to school materials via a cloud based system with a supplied school given tablet. Having this kind of system would allow students access to school information even if  the child would miss a day or week of schooling. Students will also be able to attend class virtually if they chose, participating in math or reading lessons while away from school.
