Police dispatched cadaver dogs to a Texas farmhouse Tuesday after receiving a tip from a person claiming to be a psychic who said bodies were buried there, but the dogs found nothing suspicious, a local judge said.

Judge Craig McNair of Liberty County said the sheriff’s office received a Monday night call from a person claiming to be a psychic, who said many bodies were at a farmhouse about 70 miles northeast of Houston. McNair says the caller claimed some of the bodies were dismembered and some children.

McNair says deputies who visited the property Monday found nothing amiss during a quick search. The tipster called back Tuesday morning and said deputies looked in the wrong place. Deputies who returned later Tuesday detected a foul odor coming from the house and found blood on a back door that may have come from a suicide attempt reported at the home a couple of weeks ago, McNair said.

Investigators conducted a search warrant Tuesday evening and found no evidence of bodies at the property, Sheriff’s Capt. Rex Evans said.

Authorities have a name and number for the tipster and are working to track the person down.

“We are going to continue our investigation and find out how this individual had this information in the first place,” Evans said.

He said no decision would be made on charges until the caller could be questioned and the district attorney consulted.

Initial reports said authorities had found as many as 30 bodies at the intersection of two county roads in a town outside of Houston. But Click2Houston.com reported later that officials with the county said they had no evidence of “deceased persons.”

The FBI helped collect evidence at the scene, Kim Barkausen, an FBI spokeswoman, told FoxNews.com.

McNair said the owners of the home are apparently long-haul truck drivers who were renting the house to someone else. Footage shot from a helicopter showed 15 vehicles parked along a rural road intersection near a farmhouse. The area around the home was heavily wooded.
