Every year Hot97 throws this little concert called Summer Jam, maybe you’ve heard about it?! I’m sure you have it’s probably one of the craziest concerts of the year, every year. So much has happened on that Summer Jam stage, there have been so many artists and guest artists that have graced the stage in NJ and this year is no different! The headliners for this year’s Summer Jam are Lil Wayne and Drake and their YMCMB family. Wayne and Drizzy recently opened up about how they feel about stepping onto that stage again. Read what they had to say after the jump!

In case you haven’t heard the lineup, you can find it here. Summer Jam is Sunday June 5th, I would suggest getting your tickets if you haven’t already done so!!

Rappers Drake and Lil Wayne recently discussed their upcoming appearances at Hot 97’s Summer Jam 2011 concert taking place next month in New Jersey.

This year, the New York radio station’s annual concert features artists like Birdman, Rick Ross, Fabolous, Wiz Khalifa, Dipset, Waka Flocka Flames, Lloyd Banks and Friends and others.

“One of the greatest events of the year is HOT 97’s Summer Jam,” Drake said. “When I was performing there, it was probably like one of the most overwhelming experiences of my life, but I can’t wait to come back and kill it.”

Performing in front of 50,000 people during Hot 97’s Summer Jam concert can be intimidating to an artist of any caliber, including Lil Wayne, who has graced the stage several times throughout the years

“Hot 97’s Summer Jam is different from any other concert…to me it’s the Hip-Hop Woodstock,” Lil Wayne said. “The electricity from the crowd is different, there’s so many people out there. There were people as far as my eyes could see and honestly I got a little nervous, because I was a special guest so when I ran out there I didn’t know it was that many people out there. Like Whoa!”
