Bryan Stow, the Giants fan who was beaten severely outside Dodger Stadium on March 31, got help from an unexpected source Monday: actor Charlie Sheen.
The Associated Press reported that Sheen will donate to Stow $20,000 in profits and donations from a San Francisco show.
Sheen’s publicist, Barry Klarberg, told the AP that Sheen’s performance on Saturday night in San Francisco, part of his “Violent Torpedo of Truth” tour, generated $9,000 in merchandise profits plus $4,000 in audience donations for Stow.
Sheen matched the $4,000 from the audience and kicked in $3,000 more to up the total to $20,000.
Klarberg told the AP that Sheen, a big baseball fan who played reliever Rick “Wild Thing” Vaughn in the 1988 hardball classic “Major League,” has been saddened by the attack on Stow, who remains in a medically induced coma.
