New York, NY (April 14, 2011) – Hip hop and hot rides get revved up on MTV2 in the series return of “Funk Flex Full Throttle,†premiering on Sunday, May 8, at 1:30pm ET/PT. During season two, hip hop DJ icon and king of urban car culture, Funkmaster Flex, gets into the driver’s seat to give viewers an exclusive look at entertainers’ tricked-out whips and talk about what’s up next for some of the biggest names in hip hop who roll through.
This season the garage doors will open to feature artists including: 50 Cent, Chris Brown, Cory Gunz, Dipset (including Cam’ron, Jim Jones, Juelz Santana and Vado), Fabolous, Lloyd Banks, Nicki Minaj, Rick Ross and The Lox. In addition, fans will see New York Knicks All-Star Amar’e Stoudemire talk to Flex about his off-the-court passion for upgraded rides and get an inside look at the newest muscle cars as Flex and the Full Throttle team also check out the New York International Auto Show.
Throughout the season, Flex and the crew bring viewers along as they complete expert customization projects in the garage that take over-the-top ideas and make them into auto realities. Taking their skills to new heights, the team has been asked to customize a 2011 Mustang to be featured in a race car video game. From sneakers to friendly wagers, viewers will watch as the Full Throttle team finds inspiration for these rides in the most unlikely places.
