Over the past couple weeks FAA officials have been under fire for the many slip-ups of their air traffic controllers. But today’s major mishap for sure has someone’s behind in the cooker!  Pop the hatch for details…
Air Force One was intended to reach the landing strip at Andrew’s Air Force Base but radar showed that the First Lady’s Plane was dangerously close to a military jet weighing 200 tons! Air Force One was directed to abort landing. They were instead directed to circle around the airport in order to create a distance between the two planes.
This is what the FAA had to say:
“FAA controllers at Andrews Air Force Base instructed an incoming Boeing 737 on approach to Runway 19 to perform a ‘go around’ on Monday, April 18, 2011, just after 5 p.m. because the plane did not have the required amount of separation behind a military C17.â€
The FAA has been under extreme pressure in light of recent incidents invloving napping on the job at Reagan Nat’l Airport and more recently movie watching on the jizzob! The presidential scare doesn’t make matters any better. Put a handle on it FAA!
