A welterweight bout between Carlos Condit and Dong Hyun Kim is set to take place this summer at UFC 132, officials announced Friday.

The event is scheduled for July 2 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

Condit (26-6) had been lobbying to face former welterweight and lightweight champion B.J. Pennon the same date. However, news broke earlier in the week that Penn had suffered a shoulder injury, which would keep him off the card.

A former WEC champion, Condit is coming off a first-round knockout over former No. 1 contenderDan Hardy last October. He has won three straight and is 11-1 since July 2006.

Kim (14-0-1) will look to keep his unbeaten record intact. He lost a split decision to Karo Parisyan at UFC 94 in January 2009, but the result was later changed to a no-contest after Parisyan failed his drug test.
