OMG it is truly a cruel, cruel world!! This is some SICK ish!!! 24-year-old Jonathan Hall has been arrested and sentenced to 30 years in prison for sexually assaulting a 69-year-old man! (HOUSTON, TX)–A 24-year-old man has been sentenced for sexually assaulting a 69-year-old man.
Jonathan Hall pleaded guilty to two counts of aggravated sexual assault and burglary of a habitation with the intent to commit sexual assault. He was sentenced to 30 years in prison.
Fort Bend County prosecutors said the 69-year-old went outside to get his newspaper on Nov. 21, 2008, and Hall approached him.
Hall threw the man to the ground, hit him and told him he was going to rape and kill him, prosecutors said.
Hall pushed the man into a garage, where he hit, kicked, sexually assaulted and threatened to kill the man, investigators said.
Detectives said Hall also threatened to rape and kill the man’s wife.
The man was able to scream to warn his wife, but Hall kicked him in the head repeatedly, investigators said.
Hall went into the home to look for the wife, but she had escaped to a neighbor’s house for help, officials said. Hall then fled the scene, officials said.
Investigators said they identified Hall as a suspect based on his description and law enforcement’s prior encounters with him.
A sheriff’s deputy went to Hall’s home to speak with his parents. Hall then jumped on the deputy to take his weapon, officials said. Detectives said they later learned that Hall intended to rape the deputy.
Hall was found to be competent and sane, but his attorneys argued that he was bipolar and has schizoaffective disorder. He was hospitalized for treatment, but his family removed him from it, officials said. Two months prior to the incident, his mother argued with mental health experts that her son did not have a mental illness.
Officials said Hall has refused to take medication and said that he will commit similar crimes again.
Hall will have to serve about 13 years in prison before he becomes eligible for parole.
