The Chicago Bulls plan to unveil a bronze bust of Scottie Pippen during halftime of Bulls/ Boston Celtics game on April 7th.

The statue was sculpted by Omri and Julie Rotblatt-Amrany of Highland Park, Ill., they also sculpted the famous Michael Jordan statue. Pippen is a seven-time NBA All-Star and won two Olympic gold medals (1992 and 1996). The Bulls retired Pippen’s No. 33 back in 2005.

“Words really can’t express my feelings,” Pippen said. “It’s an unbelievable honor and truly amazing. It’s something you dream of as a kid growing up, but you can never foresee those childhood fantasies becoming reality. You see statues of individuals who have done great things and made their mark on history, but as a basketball player, you never really think about arriving at this point. It’s an amazing honor for the Chicago Bulls to do this for me.”

The bust was made by the same artists who crafted the Michael Jordan statue that is outside the arena. Jordan and Pippen led the Bulls to six championships.
