Rihanna is on the cover of this month’s Vogue magazine and opened up to them about how she feels about her body. Every girl, well every girl I’ve ever come across, are at least a little self conscience about something with their body and Rihanna is no different. She told the mag that it may have took her a while but she finally loves her body. Find out what else she told the magazine after the jump
It’s taken a little while, but Rihanna says she finally feels sexy in her body – after getting in the best shape of her life for an upcoming action movie.
“Over the holidays, and even during filming, I realized that I actually like my body, even if it’s not perfect according to the book. I just feel sexy,” the singer, 23, tells Vogue in its April issue.
Working out for a role in this summer’s blockbuster Battleship certainly helped. “For the first time, I don’t want to get rid of the curves. I just want to tone it up,” Rihanna says. “My body is comfortable, and it’s not unhealthy, so I’m going to rock with it.”
The pop star’s personal trainer describes Rihanna’s figure as “Nicole Kidman meets J.Lo,” and devised a unique workout routine for her that included strapping weights to her hands so she could multitask.
“I hate going to the gym and doing it the old-fashioned way,” Rihanna explains. “I hate anything that’s too straightforward, too routine, too familiar. I get bored really, really quickly.”
The pop star also talks about her often audacious fashion choices. “When I was 14 and first started going out, I always wanted to be the opposite of everyone else,” she says.
Nowadays, it’s all about taking risks. “When I am putting looks together, I dare myself to make something work,” she says. “I always look for the most interesting silhouette or something that’s a little off, but I have to figure it out. I have to make it me. I think that’s the thrill in fashion.”
