“Just a Friend” is a 1989 comedic hip hop song by rapper Biz Markie, in which he alternates between rap and singing. Although Biz Markie had many hits to his credit from the previous three years of his career—particularly “Nobody Beats the Biz”, “Pickin’ Boogers”, “Make the Music with Your Mouth, Biz”, “Something for the Radio”, and “The Vapors” to name a few—”Just A Friend” is his only successful single in Pop, reaching the #9 position on the Billboard charts
