Well THIS is something you don’t hear everyday!!
“At 8:35 this morning, during rush hour on the Lincoln Tunnel New Jersey toll plaza, a taxi cab pulled up to the officer that was stationed there,” Port Authority Police Officer Richard Kuncken said. Read on for more.
(HP) – “The cabbie advised that his passenger was in labor.” The officer at the plaza, Kevin Leonard, “checked her and said ‘it’s coming now,’ ” Officer Kuncken said.
Kuncken, who is a trained paramedic, rushed to where the cabbie had pulled over and successfully delivered the baby girl without complications.
He then went with mother, daughter, husband and grandmother to Hoboken University Hospital. The officer said the mother didn’t seem at all fazed that she just gave birth in the loudest, dirtiest least serene place in the city.
The only damage done was to the cabbie’s upholstery.
“He’s going to need a cleaning service,” Kuncken said.
