Oklahoma State starting forward Darrell Williams has been charged with a felony count of sexual battery and three felony counts of rape by instrumentation.
The Payne County District Attorney’s office filed the charges Monday morning against Williams, a junior averaging 7.1 points and 7.3 rebounds for the Cowboys. Assistant district attorney Tom Lee says the charges stem from an incident Dec. 13 in Stillwater.
Substituting for coach Travis Ford on the Big 12 conference call Monday, assistant Chris Ferguson said he was unaware of the charges. Williams has started 12 of 23 games in his first season at Oklahoma State after transferring in from Midland College.
A team spokesman said the university was working on a statement in response to the charges against Williams.
