One season after tying an all-time high for non-senior draft declarations, those college kids are at it again.
A record 56 players with NCAA eligibility remaining have declared for the 2011Â NFL Draft, surpassing last year’s total by three. The list of 56 does not include Stanford quarterback Andrew Luck, the player widely considered to be drafted first overall as recently as a few weeks ago.
Without a new collective bargaining agreement in place, the players leaving the college ranks behind are risking the chance that there may be no professional football to be played in 2011.
